Race Roundup, March 11th

New Hampshire

Paddy’s 5 Miler: Nate Jenkins showed no mercy in unleashing a smoking 24:50 to nab the victory in Portsmouth, NH yesterday.  Stephanie Crawford took the women’s title in 30:58 and she also was uncontested for the ‘W’.  Nate, where was the CMS singlet???  Recap here:

Granite State Snow Shoe Championships: Jim Johnson took home the 10K title with a 37:30, coasting with a comfortable 3:08 lead over second place Dave Dunham.  It looks like the top 3 were running solo, as Dave also had a nice cushion over 3rd place.  Leslie Beckwith was the women’s champ (48:00), good enough for 10th overall.

Massachusetts

Hynes Tavern 5 Mile Road Race:  Stephen Gendron (26:11) and Kara Haas (28:51) took home the titles here.  Kara’s blazing time was good enough for 4th overall as well.  You may remember that Kara was featured in the Nov/Dec issue of Level Renner (on the cover, no less!).  Brief recap can be found here:

Shamrock Shuffle 5K: Steve Dowsett blew away the field with a 16:53, Anna Tomasulo also cruised to victory (and 8th overall) with a 20:06.  Recap here:

Celtic 5K: Eric Lonergan (15:46) and Joan Bonike (17:46) both won Sunday’s Celtic 5K and also the entire 2012 Tour de Patrick circuit.  Eric’s was a little sweeter as he successfully defended his titles in both this race and the circuit from last year.

Spring Forward 1 hr Trail Race: Derek Jakoboski took top honors, covering 9 miles in 55:50.  Shira Fuller was the women’s champ, covering 7 mi in 54:05.  Also of note, Ben Folsom (a former Sentinel and high school teammate of mine) took 4th overall with his 53:14 for 8 miles.  Way to represent, Ben!

Connecticut

Courthouse O’Putnam 5K: David Lusignan (17:11) and Linda Spooner (20:12) were the champs.  Both had pretty comfortable margins of victory.  Write up can be found here:

Kerrymen Pub 5K:  In a pretty competitive field, Robert Gomez took home some hardware with his smoking 15:12.  Emily Durgin was the top female, in a peppy 18:50.  The top 4 guys were under 16:00.  Couldn’t find a race recap, but here’s a nice piece addressing the fundraising angle for this event:
