The 37th annual Dory Run was held in Swampscott, MA yesterday morning. A couple of new names were added to the prestigious cup: TJ Peckham and Julia Moceri.
As you can see from the start footage, TJ took it out hard and only built on the lead. His final time was 18:14, and was a big PR. But the most impressive performance of the day may have been by Julia, who at just 11 years old is sure to be the youngest champion in the race’s prestigious history.
Julia ran a 20:31 and placed 9th overall on her way to her first 5k road race win. If Julia can keep this up then she will have a very bright future on the roads (and track, trail, etc.).
One quick look at the cup tells you that TJ and Julia joined some exclusive company. With names like Doyle, Fram, Hammond, Dunham, Rocha, Peterson, it seemingly has all the big names in the area from over the years. There’s room for a few more names on there, too.
