People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon and NU Hartford Marathon Team Up to Offer “The New England Double”
Promotion offers runners a two-marathon experience with new perks and bragging rights
January 20, 2015 – RunVermont and the Hartford Marathon Foundation, producers of two of New England’s finest marathons, are combining efforts and challenging runners to the “New England Double”. Through a unique partnership announced today, runners can earn the distinction by completing the People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon on May 24, 2015, and the NU Hartford Marathon on October 10, 2015. Those who register and finish all 52.4 miles will receive a special New England Double Medal and a finisher’s hat at the conclusion of the NU Hartford Marathon.
A special discounted rate for both races will be available to those who register between February 2 and February 15; register through runvcm.org or hartfordmarathon.com. Participants in the Double will also enjoy race day perks in a designated location at each event.
“We’re excited by this collaboration and we believe it will give runners twice the reason to enjoy New England racing in 2015,” says Peter Delaney, Executive Director of RunVermont.
“Combining efforts to offer our running communities fantastic race experiences in the spring and fall seasons is a natural collaboration that we’re thrilled to be part of,” said Beth Shluger, Executive Director of the Hartford Marathon Foundation and Race Director of the 2015 NU Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon.
