We paid a great deal of attention towards the New Bedford Half Marathon on March 20th, and rightly so; it’s the USATF-NE half marathon championship once again. But the day before that was another seasonal classic: the Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day 10K (results).

Mourad Marofit won in a blazing 28:37. He had a pretty commanding lead over Haile Tegegn in second (29:16).

Philemon Terer, a young man we’ve featured before in past coverage of this event, was 5th in 30:38.

Etalemahu Habtewold won the women’s race in 32:50. It was a dominate win for Etalemahu who came in 10th overall in this highly competitive field.

A couple of other familiar names showed up high in the standings for the ladies: Heidi Westover and Apryl Sabadosa.

They finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively, with Heidi finishing in 36:16 while Apryl came through in 36:38.

Northeast Race Photo (Ben Kimball) was on site capturing all of these great images, so be sure to check out his gallery. There are many more there!
