The Spring Street Mile, home to the fastest mile in Connecticut and one of the fastest in the region, is ready to host some of the region’s best milers on June 11th in Manchester.

The one-mile assault down Spring Street is a point-to-point, no turns, 135-foot elevation drop to see who will be crowned CT’s fastest miler and take home up to $350 in prize money. The Spring Street Mile is hosted by Manchester Running Company and features separate races for men and women, to crown a true champion in both genders.

Over $1,250 in individual prize money is up for grabs including $25 bonuses for the first male and female to cross the ½ mile mark and ¾ mile mark. $300 goes to the overall winners.

The men’s race will feature regional elites Pat Fullerton of Bradford, Mass. and Connor Reck of Boston along with CT’s fastest runners as the race is part of the USATF-CT Grand Prix Circuit.  University of Colorado mile-record holder and New York/New Jersey Track Club member Jake Hurysz expressed interest in the race but as of press time had not committed. Hurysz’s teammate at NYNJ, Erik Berg was the 2015 winner in a tidy 3:55 as three men broke the four-minute barrier.

Melissa Stellato of the host Manchester Running Company club will also make an appearance as she was 3rd a year ago in 4:46. Runner up from 2015 Jackie Baumgartner is also expected to appear as a member of SoundRunner Racing while two-time defending champion Elizabeth Eberhardt has yet to announce plans to race.

Hope to see you on race day!
