Runners, ever tried to find all your race results?  Clubs, looking for reports for your grand prix?  Frustrating isn’t it?  Results are posted on Cool Running, Race Menu, Race Wire, and the like.  More sites jumping in the game all the time.

Now there’s  The definition pretty much says it all.

noun: race; plural noun: races

  1. a competition between runners, horses, vehicles, boats, etc., to see which is the fastest in covering a set course.

noun: crawler; plural noun: crawlers

  1. Computing

a program that systematically browses the World Wide Web in order to create an index of data.

At RaceCrawler, they have scanned road race results across numerous running sites and provide a searchable index.  Results are updated daily.  Runners can simply browse to the site, enter their name, and press search.  See other runners with your name? No problem. Click details and enter your home town to narrow it down.

Think that’s cool?  Create a runner’s account and specify your search information in your profile.  Here you can specify alias names and home towns, which is useful for moves and marriages. The site then creates a “My Races” page listing your races and times.  You can see your race history back to 2008.

Running Clubs, we haven’t forgotten you.  When you create a club account, you can upload a spreadsheet of members.  Names are required at a minimum.  The site then creates a club “My Races” page listing your races and times of all the club’s members.

As with other running sites, you can list events, and post race results directly in RaceCrawler.  Don’t miss Bob’s race reviews, the site’s editor,  and friends’ special take on local races.

Using RaceCrawler is always free to runners.  But they will sell advertising to help keep the site going.  Please send any and all inquiries to Bob ([email protected]).

Happy Running!
