A 5th place finish at a National Championship looks good on any running resume, but there’s one more aspect of Kim Dobson’s performance at the Loon Mountain Race that cannot go unrecognized. Kim was the fastest climber of the nearly vertical Upper Walking Boss. The Boss is a black diamond ski trail that features a brutal 40-45% average grade over approximately the last kilometer of the 6.3 mile event. We caught up with Kim on how she managed to hammer up The Boss faster than any other woman in the field and in addition, get an extra $100 courtesy of Salomon Running.
