Shaking Things Up

Jason Eddy was all business on Sunday in New Bedford. After all, there was a Shake Weight on the line. Jay easily won the 36th Annual Spooner 10k in 35:16. He needs to be careful now because working out with the Shake Weight will allow him to easily and quickly bulk up. The next time you see him, Jay’s arms might be too big to race fast.

Seeing this made me wonder what some of the stranger prizes runners have received at races might be. Whether it’s an overall, age group or even a raffle prize, surely there must be something out there that can top the Shake Weight. So chime in either in the comments below or tag ‘@levelrenner’ with your social media comments.

Every year I run the Chelmsford HS alumni race. The prizes are funny. Every year one of the most coveted prizes is a 4 pack of Toilet paper. You see there are plenty of college kids who come back to run this race. One year I was lucky enough to take 2nd place and was awarded the TP. Never been so proud!
