The second NE Runner 2015 Pub Series race is in the books and the standings are starting to shape up. The masses gathered in Jamaica Plains, MA back on April 12th for the classic Doyle’s Emerald Necklace 5 mile race.
David Wilson (24, Brookline, MA) continued his tear through the circuit with a win in 25:27. David was pretty much uncontested here, with the only thing pushing him was (most likely) how badly he wanted to get back to Doyle’s for a pint. First come first served, right?
The recently married Greg Picklesimer finished fourth in 26:41 and was the top masters runner. The 48 year old Greg now sits in a tie for second in the series with TJ Unger. Tie goes to the elder, right? Both TJ and Greg are only 6 points behind David, which might not seem like a lot, but with the way David’s been running that is probably an insurmountable lead.
For the ladies, Virginia Reiner took the crown in 30:29, which was good for 38th overall. Virginia currently sits atop the leaderboard too, with a nearly perfect 99 points after two races. The top masters woman was the ageless Holly Madden of Whirlaway, who came through in 32:43.
