The 3rd installment of the New Hampshire Grand Prix road series was held on the hilly roads of Bedford for a 12k event. Many runners in the Boston area might consider this a close equivalent to three laps of Fresh Pond, but the Bedford race is a lot hillier, as many can attest from it’s USATF-NE Grand Prix running in 2012 when Kevin Johnson set the course record at the time, even if this year’s course was slightly different. Right after Rob Edson gets featured in our May/June mag edition, he travels nearly 100 miles south of his Hanover, NH residence to win the Bedford 12k in 44’44 and set the bar for the new race course. Edson’s Upper Valley Running Club is also off to a fantastic start in the 2015 NH slate as they lead the standings after three races. Now that’s keeping it on the Level! The Greater Derry Track Club was also well represented as Lauren Tilton crossed the line first for the women with her time of 50 minutes, 6 seconds. GDTC would also take the unofficial team victory at the NH Grand Prix event, just two points ahead of the UVRC team.
