Bobby Doyle Summer Classic Champion Interviews

Mosaab Hadout is in the States for the first time, and he’s certainly making the most of his couple of weeks here. The visiting Morrocan stepped into the deepest field in Bobby Doyle Summer Classic history and laid waste to the record. Eventually it came down to Hadout vs Dan Lowry over the last half mile and the two treated us all to a thrilling finish. Hadout ended up taking it in 23:51, and Lowry was just behind in 23:52…although that number must be rounded up. Those guys were close!

Did you like Jurassic Park reference in there? Yeah, we did too. Thanks to Mosaab for the interview, too. I would be pretty terrified giving an interview in another country in another language. With the help of his translator, we made it work. He didn’t even hesitate.

Next, we spoke to Dan Lowry. You can probably say that Dan Lowry made the race, and although he didn’t get the win it was still a heck of a show. Dan fought the wind and arguably was the reason why three guys ended up under the old course record.

Finally we spoke to Laura Nagel, who is on an absolute tear! All she does is set course records. Laura’s 26:40 gave her a big win, followed by Heather Cappello in 27:14 (Heather owned the old mark of 27:20). That’s two weekends in a row that we’ve interviewed her now, too. We might have to schedule some sort of weekly segment, ‘Checking in With Nagel on her Latest Record‘, or something like that.
