XC Takes Center Ice at UMass Lowell

The UMass Lowell men’s cross country team was honored on the ice during an intermission in the River Hawks’ 3-1 win over Notre Dame on Saturday night. Either I just so happened to be at the arena to see the game because my boss had an extra ticket, or I materialize out of thin air every time someone says ‘cross country’. No matter the reason, right place right time and I was able to snag some footage of the moment.

The River Hawks captured the first America East conference title in school history this season. From their website:

The championship is the first for any UMass Lowell athletic team since joining the America East Conference and beginning the transition to Division I nearly three years ago. Cross Country and Field Hockey are the only UMass Lowell sports in which the teams are currently eligible for a conference title. All other sports will be eligible after the transition to Division I is complete.
