Jonny Wilson ran a 1:06:13 and lost the New Bedford Half Marathon in what some would say is the cruelest of fashion…out-kicked in the final meters just before the line. It’s nothing to be ashamed of though, since you have to be a beast of a runner to be in that position in the first place. What makes it oh-so-cruel is putting up with the cold and the wind for over an hour, being so close to the line that you can taste that victory…and then get dealt one final move that you just can’t cover. Will Sanders surged ahead just before the tape to steal the win with a 1:06:12 (it looked much closer than the final times dictate).
