Fazio Named RPI Athlete of the Year

Caught wind that a member of Level Legion just received a pretty big honor from his school:

Yup, Ben Fazio, whom you may have seen at some non-collegiate races sporting his Level singlet, earned that recognition from RPI on the strength of his All American XC season and also being named the Liberty League Track Performer of the Week three times. More on his accomplishments from the RPI release:

CROSS COUNTRY: Seven meets … Season best first at Geneseo … Fourth at Liberty League Championship and NCAA Atlantic Regional … Twentieth at NCAA Championship to earn National All-America … Liberty League Performer of the Week three times … All-Liberty League First Team … All-Region … TRACK & FIELD: Outdoor: First in 1500 in all three meets, including Liberty League Championship and New York State Championship … First in 5000 in three of five meets, including Silfen Invitational, Liberty League Championship and New York State Championship … Broke 30-year old school record in 5000 … Second in IC4A/ECAC Championship … Participated in 5000 at NCAA Championship, finishing 18th … Liberty League Track Performer of the Week three times … Indoor: Won 1000 at Bowdoin, 3000 at Ithaca (school and facility records) and mile at Dartmouth (school record) … Won mile, second in 1000 (school record) and fourth in distance medley relay at New York State Championship … Participated in mile at NCAA Championship, finishing 15th … Liberty League Track Performer of the Week twice.
