As we announced in our April subscriber newsletter, we will be teaming up with Karhu and the New England Running Company to give away some great stuff at the 2014 Boston Marathon Expo. Kevin and EJN will personally be on hand to meet and greet member of Level Legion (and hopefully to persuade a few more to join the ranks). Here’s a schedule for our appearances:
- Eric - Friday, 12:00-1:00
- Kevin - Saturday, 1-2 pm (remember this is the day of the BAA 5k)
- Eric - Sunday, 9:30-10:30 am
Here’s what to expect:
- First three people each day to show up at the Karhu booth and tweet, Facebook post or mention the Karhu/LVL promotion will get a limited edition Karhu t-shirt.
- All individuals who stop at the booth can also enter to win a free pair of Karhu Fluids courtesy of New England Running Company. One pair will be given away at the end of each day of the expo. Runners who post/tweet about the Karhu/LVL promotion will receive additional entries into our raffle.
That’s right, that’s 9 gift packs and 3 pairs of shoes to be given away! Kevin Balance and EJN will be helping to hand out prizes and greet the members of Level Legion that venture over to the booth, along with the Karhu Bear.
It’s time to finally announce the winner of our October contest. It should’ve happened, well, back in October, but a little bit of pneumonia set things back some. This month’s lucky winner: Bill Glenney! Bill has won a pair of shoes and an accessory from Brooks and the New England Running Co.
Congrats to Bill and thanks to Brooks and NE Running Co for stepping up to help another member of Level Legion to run happy. If you didn’t win this time then you’ll get your chance in November. Subscribers already know what the next contest is. Details on that one are on the way but be sure to get your free subscription to ensure that you have a chance.
As always, thanks for reading and check out both Brooks and New England Running Co on Twitter too.
Brooks is teaming up with the New England Running Company to hook one lucky subscriber up with a pair of shoes and an accessory in this month’s giveaway. The winner will get to choose from the wide selection at the New England Running Company store. If you don’t live anywhere near the store, don’t worry. The prize can be shipped to you.
As always, the contest is for subscribers only but there will be chances to gain additional entries via social media. For instance, any subscriber who mentions us or retweets us on Twitter will gain an additional entry. On Facebook, all you have to do is share one of our status updates. While we’re throwing links out there, be sure to follow both Brooks and New England Running Co on Twitter too.
We’ll give the goods away sometime next week (before Halloween). Until then, you can find the latest and greatest Brooks gear at the New England Running Company in Beverly, MA.
Oh boy. Our online contest for free entry to the 38th Annual Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day Road Race ended last Friday. Then the last of the early registration deadlines passed and the fee was nudged up slightly. Good thing for you that we have another contest starting right now!
Here’s your chance to win entry for you and a friend for a phenomenal race followed by an epic block party. Just imagine yourself running with the streets lined with spectators the whole way. It’s the biggest race in western Mass and you could be part of it. Afterwards, you’ll find yourself amidst an incredible celebration as four city blocks are shut down from traffic and eight local bars turn the streets into a giant St. Patrick’s Day celebration, complete with live music in multiple locations and plenty of places to get food and drinks.
The best events are usually the ones where the town fully supports it and that is definitely the case here. The town really gets behind the race and then puts on a huge parade the next day.
Want to take a shot at it yourself? We’ve got the hook-up! Everyone who likes both the Level Renner and the Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day Road Race Facebook pages will be entered to win two race entries. One lucky winner, two race entries for that lucky man or woman. It’s then up to you to decide which of your friends you’ll take. We imagine that will make you quite popular with them.
The Level will be out there in force covering the race and you can be out there with us too. So go ahead and like our FB page, like theirs and then leave a comment here or on our on our Holyoke Race Entry Contest FB post (which will serve as your official entry). That way, people who have already liked the pages in the past can enter as well. Remember to please like the actual pages and not just the post, and good luck! Winner will be announced Thursday night (March 14th).
Oh, we almost forgot to mention: winner will also receive two free Level t-shirts to go along with the two free race entries. What’s better than that?
Okay, it’s been about a week now. Time to announced a winner for two free entries to the 38th Annual Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day Road Race. The lucky member of Level Legion is….
Kevin left a comment on the site as his entry, and we thought it was worth sharing: Love the website and can’t wait for the St.Patty’s RR…greatest and greenest day of the year in Holyoke!
We could potentially be doing this again, so keep checking back. In the meantime, feel free to like the Facebook pages of both Level Renner and the Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day Road Race. Every little like helps out immensely!
We’d be remiss to not acknowledge a couple of big birthdays today.
Dan Kramer - New Balance Boston
Joanna Murphy - New Balance Boston
Tom Derderian - GBTC / USATF-NE President
How can we not acknowledge El Presidente? Happy birthday to all of them, don’t party too hard. Or party just enough to keep it on the Level.
So it’s my birthday today…again. I guess it comes every year. All I know is, I’m getting too old for this sh… It was nice to awaken to find all the birthday greetings awaiting for me on Facebook, but then again it made me feel guilty that I was sleeping in while all these people were doing that. I don’t even want to think of all the ones that were actually out racing or training…that’ll make me feel even lazier.
One of them in particular jumped out at me. A speedy senior on my team mentioned that he has a birthday tradition of doing a pushup for every year of his existence, all non-stop of course. The question ‘What do you do’ was asked of me, and I had nothing. Nothing! Why don’t I have a tradition? I’ve heard of other people doing traditions based on their years, like miles run, shots and even jumping flaming school buses on a motorcycle (it could happen, right?).
I need to come up with something! So, what’s your tradition? Leave it in the comments here. Even if your tradition is nothing, either say nothing or make one up. We’ll pick one entry at random to win a Level t-shirt. Contest is for today only, so get your entries in by midnight
We’ll be giving away something every day between now and the end of the year. If you haven’t already, like our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter so you’ll be in the loop for all of the contest details and deadlines (along with getting latest on your favorite sport).
